Students are registered in a study abroad course labeled EXCH, and the course number will reflect the level of the course and number of credit hours approved by the advisor on the Course Approval Form (Example: EXCH 1491.001). UTA Study Abroad Staff will enroll you in your EXCH courses.
Affiliated Program Enrollment Procedures
Students participating on a UTA Affiliated Study Abroad program earn UTA resident credit, and grades are recorded in pass/fail format. Students are registered in a study abroad course labeled ASA. The course number will reflect the level of the course and number of credit hours approved by the advisor on the Course Approval Form. (Example: ASA 1491.001) UTA Study Abroad Staff will enroll you in your ASA courses.
More on Enrollment for Exchange and Affiliated Programs
In addition to your enrollment here at UTA, most programs also require students to enroll officially in courses after they arrive in-country. When you have officially enrolled in all courses at your host university, you must submit the Verification of Overseas Courses Form to the UTA Study Abroad Office through the online application system. The form must be submitted within 15 days from the start of your program in order to receive credit for your courses taken abroad.
After the transcript from the host university is sent back to the UTA Study Abroad Office, your grade and course name will be entered into the UTA system. If the grade you earn at your host university is considered a failing grade, you will receive an F in the UTA system.
UTA Faculty-led Program Enrollment Procedures
Students participating on a UTA Faculty-led program earn UTA resident credit, and grades are recorded as regular letter grades. Students are registered in the UTA departmental course(s) associated with the program through the student's MyMav account. Students will either receive permission to enroll themselves in the UTA courses in MyMav or will be enrolled by the faculty leader for their program.
