This unique opportunity for study abroad will provide the opportunity for students to combine a brief (yet intensive) cultural immersion experience with a comprehensive, hands–on, insider’s view of the major components of the criminal justice system in South Korea.  Participating students will gain a basic understanding of South Korean culture and social institutions.  This course enables students to have a better appreciation of criminal justice issues in South Korea.  In doing so, they will also gain exposure to various aspects of South Korea, including its political system, history, economy, policing, the judiciary and legal systems, corrections, and private security.  Within this context, the primary course objective is a detailed understanding of the similarities and differences between the criminal justice system in South Korea and the United States.

Program Dates:  July 13 - 30, 2018

Courses:  3-credit hours
  • CRCJ 4387 Topics in Crime and Criminology (Undergraduate)
