Program Description:

Royal College of Music in Stockholm
Stockholm, Sweden

Location:  Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and is the country's cultural, media, political, and economic center.  The city is spread across a total of 17 islands on the coast in the southeast of Sweden at the mouth of Lake Mälaren, by the Stockholm archipelago and the Baltic Sea.

The University:  The Royal College of Music in Stockholm (KMH) is Sweden's only independent university college within the field of music and is an inspiring setting for artistic learning and development – an excellent place to develop your talent and ability, deepen your understanding, and explore fresh fields of knowledge.

Courses Offered:  At KMH, you will meet other students and skilled teachers involved in a wide variety of disciplines: classical music, Nordic folk music, music from other cultures, jazz, improvisation, composition, conducting, music and media production, as well as various forms of music education.

Student Visas:  In addition to a valid passport, students may need to obtain a visa and/or residence permit.  Students will apply for this after they have been accepted into the program.   Visa Information

Fun Facts:  Stockholm hosts the annual Nobel Prize ceremonies and banquet at the Stockholm Concert Hall and Stockholm City Hall. One of the city's most prized museums, the Vasa Museum, is the most visited non-art museum in Scandinavia.  The Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of Sweden's oldest festivals and takes place at Skeppsholmen, one of the islands of Stockholm, in July.
