Program Description:

Location: Chile is a country of astonishing contrasts and extreme beauty, and on a clear day, Santiago offers one of the most spectacular settings of any city in the world.  A glance through the sky-scrapers reveals a mighty circle of mountains - the snow-capped Andean peaks to the east, and a smaller coastal range to the west - that frames the Chilean capital. And those mountains don't just sit there as decoration - there's a huge range of activities within easy reach of the urban sprawl. Trekking, climbing, horseback riding, skiing, kayaking and wine tours are just a few of the exhilarating possibilities at Santiago's doorstep.

The University: The Universidad de Chile is one of only 10 Latin American universities ranked among the world’s top 500. It has been at the forefront of Chilean history, politics, economics, social and cultural affairs since its foundation in 1842.  The Faculty of Economics and Business – or Facultad de Economía y Negocios (FEN) – of the Universidad de Chile is one of Latin America’s leading Business Schools.

Courses Offered:  Students take Business courses taught in Spanish and English.  Some knowledge of Spanish is recommended; students with high proficiency in Spanish may have the opportunity to take courses taught in Spanish.  FEN Course Details

Student Visas:  In addition to a US passport, all students must obtain a valid  Student Visa.  Students will apply for this visa once they have been accepted into the program.  Student Visa Process Details

Fun Facts: Chile is the only country where there are no poisonous snakes. Chile has a coastline of 4,435 km although it is only 175 km wide. The country is home to nearly 1500 volcanoes and 500 of them are potentially active.
