Location: Cottbus is located about 70 miles south of Berlin and only 20 miles away from the Polish border. Cottbus, with a population over 100,000, was once located in East Germany prior to the German reunification in 1990. Cottbus prides itself on being a "green" city, boasting a number of lovely parks and well-maintained gardens.
The University: Brandenburg Technical University (BTU) was founded in 1991 as the only technical university in the State of Brandenburg. BTU has a student population of more than 4,500 students, over 1,000 of which are international students.
Courses Offered: Courses are offered in English in the areas of study listed above. Students with a high proficiency in German may also take courses taught in German.
