IEW is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to celebrate international education and exchange worldwide. UTA is celebrating IEW with over a week of programming, including:
 
I Am UTA Study Abroad: Students Share Their Stories from Abroad – Tuesday, October 31
The "I Am UTA Study Abroad" student panel series showcases the diverse range of UTA students studying abroad.  Join fellow UTA Mavericks as they share about their experiences abroad!  This interactive panel will feature study abroad alumni discussing their first-time travel experiences, how they gained their family’s support, and more.  Come and hear their stories and also ask questions of your own. 12:30pm in the UC, Guadalupe.
 
International Language Labs – Wednesday, November 1
Participate in short, interactive language “lessons” to learn a few characters, word, or phrases for different languages.  10:30am-12:30pm in the UC Mall.
 
International Fall Food Fair – Wednesday, November 1
Enjoy delicious cuisine from all over the world prepared by UTA students.  11am-3pm in the UC Mall.
 
Global Grounds – Thursday, November 2
Sip chai tea and enjoy tasty snacks from 4-5:30pm in the UC, Palo Duro Lounge.  This week’s Global Grounds is co-hosted by Multicultural Affairs.
 
World Trivia Night – Thursday, November 2
Create a team of 4 or 5 with your friends and test your knowledge with fun questions about different countries and culture. 6-7:30pm in the UC, Palo Duro Lounge.  There will be prizes for the winning teams. 
 
Ubuntu Social Justice Conference – Saturday, November 4
Hosted by Multicultural Affairs and the Office of International Education, the fourth annual social justice conference challenges our Maverick community to be agents of social change! Featuring a dynamic keynote speaker, workshop sessions, a service project, networking activities and more!  Pre-registration required at https://www.uta.edu/multicultural/diversity-education/Ubuntu/index.php.
