With hundreds of programs across the globe, UTA has a study abroad opportunity that will likely suit your interests and your academic needs.  Below, you will find more information on the different types of study abroad programs available.  After you find a program that interests you, make an appointment with a Study Abroad Advisor to gain additional information.  It's that simple!

UTA Reciprocal Exchange Programs

UTA Exchange & Affiliate Program Application Checklist
 
Students participating on Reciprocal Exchange Programs earn UTA resident credit, and grades are recorded as regular letter grades.  Students pay tuition to UTA, and housing and other related costs are paid directly to the host institution abroad.   Reciprocal programs are UTA financial aid eligible.

Students are registered in a study abroad course labeled EXCH, and the course number will reflect the level of the course and number of credit hours approved by the advisor on the Course Approval Form.  (Example: EXCH 1491.001)  Students are charged regular UTA tuition for EXCH courses.

UTA currently has Reciprocal Exchange Programs in 17 different countries with summer, semester, and academic year options available.

UTA Faculty-led Programs

 
Students participating on a UTA Faculty-led program earn UTA resident credit, and grades are recorded as regular letter grades.  Students pay tuition directly to UTA, and housing and other related costs are paid according to the department's procedures.  Faculty-led programs are financial aid eligible. 

Students are registered in the UTA departmental course(s) associated with the program through the student's MyMav account.  (Example: SPAN 2391.001)  Students are charged regular UTA tuition for the UTA courses.

UTA usually offers 10-12 Faculty-led programs each year, and the length of the program varies. See the respective departments and/or faculty leader (as listed) for further information and application materials.

UTA Affiliated Programs

Students participating on an Affiliated Program earn UTA resident credit, and grades are recorded in pass/fail format.  Students do not pay tuition to UTA; program tuition, housing, and other related costs are paid directly to the Affiliated program provider.   Affiliated programs are UTA financial aid eligible. 

Students are registered in a study abroad course labeled ASA, and the course number will reflect the level of the course and number of credit hours approved by the advisor on the Course Approval Form.  (Example: ASA 1491.001)  Students are not charged UTA tuition for ASA courses.

UTA is currently affiliated with ten program providers that offer study abroad, internship, and volunteer programs in over 55 countries with summer, semester, and academic year options.

Non-UTA Programs

Students who participate on a program that is not affiliated with UTA will earn transfer credit and not UTA resident credit. Students should be aware that they cannot utilize their UTA financial aid. Students who are considering non-UTA programs are strongly encouraged to contact the UTA Study Abroad Office regarding their study abroad plans.
